iPhone 3GS Available Today in Egypt Via Vodafone and Mobinil With a price War? When it Will Be in the Rest of the Arab World?

3608346339_82d681a9d2 iPhone 3GS Available Today in Egypt Via Vodafone and Mobinil With a price War? When it Will Be in the Rest of the Arab World?

The new iPhone 3Gs that was announced during The Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) last June, has great upgraded features to Apple’s former iPhone 3G, such as faster speed, Video with 3 Megapixel Camera, cute, copy and paste and compass. This cutting edge Mobile phone seems coming to Egypt today (Egypt Time) via two mobile operators Mobinil and Vodafone as both have added the iPhone 3Gs section to their websites here and here.

While trying to get the prices from both companies’s website, Mobinil changed upwards its prices within the day:

  • iPhone 3G 8GB from EGP 3,300 to EGP 3,800.
  • iPhone 3GS 16GB from EGP 4,000 to EGP 4,150 OR OR iPhone 3GS 16GBS: EGP 4,640??
  • iPhone 3GS 32GB from EGP 4,700 to EGP 5,130.

While Vodafone prices seems to be according to what seems its official Facebook Egypt’s fanpage to:

  • iPhone 3G 8GB 3910 EGP.
  • iPhone 3G 16GB 4649 EGP.
  • iPhone 32G 8GB 5130EGP.

I do not know what made Mobinil change its prices, if you do let us know.

As for other Arab countries that has iPhone 3G with no “S” such as Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates (UAE), there is still no confirmed information when they will be available, rumors say after Ramadan (Ramadan ends next month.)

iPhone 3Gs has been available in many countries outside USA since last June but its debut to the Arab world is late. When will Apple consider its customers in the Arab world as human beings and treat them as equals to others in the world?

( Thanks for @nardgo and his brother @moodeey)

Exclusive Video Interview With Keith Nillsson VP Yahoo & Samih Toukan Co-Founder Maktoob.

Yesterday, the second day after the biggest news in the Arab Internet world since ever -Yahoo! Acquisition of Maktoob- I had the chance to record a video Interview with Keith Nillsson Senior Vice President International Emerging Markets Yahoo and Samih Toukan Co-Founder of Maktoob, now Director of Jabbar.

The 15 minutes interview covers topic ranging from, future plans for Yahoo Middle East, where Yahoo| Maktoob R&D will be done.? The relationship between Jabbar (The new company that used to be named Maktoob Group) and Yahoo.

One important point is that Kalimat the Pay-Per-Click contextual advertising system that runs on Araby.com will not only be running on iKoo network of publishers that serves 1.4 billion monthly impressions to over 39 million unique users, but also on Yahoo Middle East that has 20 Million on Yahoo, 16 million on Maktoob (There must be some duplicated users) thus posing a serious challenge to Google's Adwords in the region.

PS: I tried around 10 times to upload the Video since yesterday but failed, each session took me around 2 hours. If there is anyone to blame it is Orange Jordan's' ISP division that forces download limits. So I went to the mall and used Kulacom WIMMAX Internet services.

Here is the Video:
(This Video is shot using Nokia 5800 Xpress Music, hence the quality.)
